Aspen Homes Inc.
Shelly Basso has been in the homebuilding industry since she was 19, and in 1993 she started her own custom homebuilding company: Aspen Homes Inc. in Pewaukee, Wis. For those who personally know Basso, a career in homebuilding had always been something of an inevitability.
“Aspen Homes Inc. was built on a foundation of experience,” the company says. “Our family comes from generations of contractors and tradesmen who know what quality and hard work are all about. It’s about getting the job done right, and above all, exceeding expectations.”
At Aspen Homes the focus is not on how many projects are completed but on how well those projects are completed. The customer’s wants and satisfaction are always top on the list. A well-thought-out design matched with deft hands that can bring those designs into reality can be exhilarating for the client, but Aspen Homes recognizes that a little fear has its way of sneaking into the process. Aspen Homes prides itself in creating a process that eases customers’ fears and that has been refined over the years.
“At Aspen Homes Inc. it’s never been about how many customers we sell, but about how well we serve the customers that we have,” the company says. “We’ve established a great reputation with our clients, our subcontractors and our vendors. We work as a talented and creative team, always educating ourselves so that we can be a good resource for others. We have a hands-on approach to building that creates a very personal experience during and after [the client’s] home is built.”
Communication is key to ensuring a smooth building process. All homeowners are teamed with a sales associate who talks with future buyers regarding their home’s design. Aspen Homes sits down with owners to change and upgrade designs to suit their individual tastes. Homes are designed for real-life, which means they can include features such as entertaining-size kitchens, split bedrooms, open spaces, loads of storage and windows.
“Whether you are an empty-nester looking for an open concept ranch with all of today’s amenities, building your first home and not sure what you want or need, or you are building your 10th home with a specific style in mind, Aspen Homes has the plan that’s just right for you,” the company says.
After design details have been selected, a sales associate writes up the building construction contract. The contract protects the homebuilder and the homeowner from unfair price increases.
