Your Home. Your Design. Your Way. That’s the Patterson Homes way. A semicustom and multifamily homebuilder, the Highland, Utah-based company has been building in and around the Utah County since the ‘30s. The company prides itself on building high-quality homes and boasts delivering an unmatched construction service that stems from more than 75 years of construction experience.
“We’re a third generation of builders,” Co-owner Scott Dunn says. “The family has been entrenched in construction, home building and real estate in Utah for three generations. I think that differentiates us and gives us an edge over our competition.” Dunn co-owns the company with Robert Patterson and Matthew Childs. Patterson Homes has a high-profile residential development in American Fork, Utah.
Autumn Crest, which will consist of more than 100 homes upon completion in 2020, is being talked up as one of the most highly-anticipated communities to come to that market in the last few years. The development is designed to be a flagship, luxury community that will create long-term value for its residence and their neighbors. “It’s a high-profile project in a desirable location,” Co-owner Robert Patterson says. “It’s located next to an LDS Temple that is a landmark.”
From its majestic mountain views to its proximity to some of American Fork’s most prominent and beautiful landmarks, Autumn Crest’s location offers the best that Utah County has to offer. The multi-phase premium development is expected to become a destination for families who desire to plant their roots deep into Utah’s finest of communities.
Befitting to its location, homeowners will be offered the finest in quality craftsmanship and design with a number of spacious floorplans. “These rambler style homes don’t look like they are as big from the outside as they do on the inside,” Patterson says. “They are between 4,500 to 5,800 square feet. They’re single level homes with a traditional pitched roof and some have loft areas.”
The homes are a mixture of semicustom and move-in-ready spec homes, ranging from $700,000 to $1 million. The lower-end homes have two bedrooms while some larger homes offer up to eight bedrooms. Exterior facades consist of brick, stone and fiber cement boards with accents of rough timber. On the inside, the homes feature high-end millwork including granite and quarts counter tops, hardwood floors, tile or marble ceramic, LED lighting and energy-efficient water heaters and furnaces. The homes are also designed to be easy to maintain.
“We are predominantly catering to the empty nester market,” Patterson says. “So, these homes are easily maintainable with new and elegant features.” The development is located near scenic parks and the award-winning Murdock Canal Trail. It’s also only minutes away from a variety of outdoor recreational activities in American Fork Canyon that include hiking, cycling, running, camping, fishing and other outdoor adventures. American Fork also has its own fitness center and pool.
Designs As one of Utah’s premier home builders, Patterson Homes strives to take the stress out of building a new home by providing a selection of floor plans and home features. “I think we offer our customers a good education of what to expect before they start,” Dunn says. “And we’re always here for them. If there’s a problem, the owners are willing to meet face-to-face and iron out the issues.”
Buyers can choose from 10 different floor plans and customize the home’s features such as doors, windows, roof, floors, carpeting and color schemes. Design specialists work closely with customers to help them decide on a wide range of custom building options that include: colors, materials, hardware, interior and exterior finishings, appliances, lighting, audio, security, fireplaces and showers and bath tubs.
Patterson Homes’ architects are ready to accommodate special requests from customers to build their homes to fit their individual lifestyle needs. Depending on the complexity of the design, it generally takes Patterson Homes between 6 and 8 months to build a home. For customers that don’t have the time to customize or desire a quick move-in, Patterson Homes offers a selection of move-in ready homes.
The company’s move-in ready homes are designed with attention to the latest styles and building materials. Patterson Homes currently has a number of move-in ready homes in Alpine, American Fork, Lehi, Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs and Provo.
One Generation To The Next
Patterson Homes started when Robert Thomas Patterson settled in Alpine, Utah, with his family in the ‘30s. He and his son, Robert Patterson II, started building homes in the Utah Valley and Salt Lake Valley under the name of Patterson Construction. Building upon his success, Robert Patterson II’s sons continue leading the company today.
The family takes pride in passing down its business from one generation to the next. With more than 75 years of experience and continually improving its building process, Patterson Homes is proud of its past and looks forward to leading the industry into the future. “Hopefully, we can teach our kids construction and they can take over the business when they grow up,” Dunn says.
Patterson Homes has also built townhomes and condominiums, senior housing communities, assisted living communities, and commercial and professional office buildings. The company is also into land development. It sells improved building lots in many of its communities to other home builders and individual homeowners.
