Contractors Track to Vegas for Concrete Ideas
WOC’s past highlights included the 17th Annual SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 World Championship.
The World of Concrete is looking to build off its 2019 trade show — the biggest in 10 years — when it takes place Feb. 4-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Presented by Informa Markets, the event is the only annual international trade show and education program for commercial construction concrete and masonry professionals. Informa Senior Marketing Manager Steven Pomerantz notes that WOC began with a show in Houston in 1975.
This year’s WOC show will feature seminars starting on Feb. 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). According to Pomerantz, the city has been WOC’s home since 2005 and will feature many big attractions.
“The draw for WOC attendees each year is strong, due to the networking, abundance of new products and new suppliers, the outdoor events and challenges, and hundreds of hands-on demonstrations presented by the exhibitors as well as for the education,” he says.
Each year, he notes, the WOC Education Program grows, with almost 6,000 attendees taking thousands of sessions. “They come to enhance their skills and learn new ways to do their job … more efficiently and cost effectively,” he says.
But the event also will feature new technologies and new products, which “are always the top themes,” Pomerantz asserts. “Attendees will find plenty of both at the 2020 show.”
Although it is still early, WOC has high expectations for the show that it will present in 2021, which will be featured in a new West Hall at LVCC that is currently under construction. When finished, it will feature an exhibits and meeting room.
“We are excited for the new building to be completed and will be working throughout the next year to determine the best way to present the show in 2021 with this new campus to navigate,” Pomerantz says. “[There are] lots of great things happening in Vegas.”
